What an enriching experience for you and your team mates as it has been for the members of Ata Matigsalug, Dan. Proud of what you all did.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ma =) it really was =)
ReplyDeleteThe insights that you got through this singular experience - the deeper understanding of the values of honesty, self-reliance, integrity and hard-work that you imbibed, the eye-opening and proud realization of the nobility of indigenous Filipino values and culture that you gained and the enlightening appreciation of the inherent connection between man and nature that you observed - these are more than enough compensation that anyone could hope to gain from the sacrifices and rigors of a UP education! We're proud to have been part of it! Keep true to the lessons learned as you journey forth!

ReplyDeleteOur church also had a Mission Trip to the same village. The experience was really life-changing for me. It made me look at life in a different perspective. The Ata-Matigsalug Tribe is really loving and hospitable. I'm very thankful to Manama for the opportunity of meeting these people. Glad to know that there are also other people who were touched by their simple lifestyle. :)
ReplyDeleteReally? =) who were your foster parents there? =D they're a really amazing community
DeletePastor Ben's Family. =) I read your blog and looks like you've met Pastor Ben. Agree! They're really amazing community. Actually, we're planning of going back there this coming October. Yay! We're all excited!
